Stuart Clark continued his demolition of Western Australia with 8 for 58 before the New South Wales batsmen extended their lead to 343 at stumps. Clark, who collected his best first-class figures, helped restrict the Warriors to 152 and at the close the Blues were 6 for 225.Western Australia looked like being completely humiliated when they slumped to 6 for 19 early in the first session but some late resistance from Luke Ronchi and Brett Dorey ensured they would not have to follow on. Ronchi, fresh from the fastest Australian domestic limited-overs century, plundered 69 from 57 balls and Dorey remained unbeaten on 35.Clark, who had taken a hat-trick late on the first day, finished with the best bowling of any player against the Warriors at the WACA. Phil Jaques made 57 – his second half-century of the game – as the Blues pushed further ahead in their second innings.Dorey continued to fly the flag for the home team, taking 3 for 37 but the Warriors’ deficit kept growing. Several New South Wales batsmen made starts but besides Jaques, only Brad Haddin (39 not out) and Grant Lambert (42) threatened to go on.
