The 39-year-old has become the frontrunner to succeed outgoing Reds boss Klopp this summer after Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso ruled himself out of contention. Now, journalist Pedro Sepulveda claims Amorim's agent, Raul Costa, has purchased an 'apartment in Liverpool' and the Reds are in the 'final negotiations' with the Sporting boss over a move.

Sepulveda added that one of agent Costa's 'employees' will live in Liverpool permanently. The intermediary does also represent Reds winger Luis Diaz, so it is not certain this flat is for Amorim, although it is rare for agents to watch over one specific player consistently.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Finding a successor for Klopp is proving to be a difficult task but the Reds have to get the right appointment to not squander the legacy the German has created at Anfield over the years. While many are reporting this is close to a done deal, Amorim himself vehemently refuted claims he had reached a verbal agreement to join Liverpool so this saga may rumble on for a while.
